Managers and leaders have different roles to play in organisations. Some organisations say they want all their managers to be leaders but not all managers make good leaders, indeed not all people in leadership positions make good leaders. This presentation will suggest that the very basis of leadership is spiritual because the leader seeks to liberate the best in people, and the best is always linked to higher self. We know that good management is 'people management' - the management of human effort. But leaders work at the more abstract level of people's energy, heart and spirit. We will explore the various roles of leaders from servant to warrior to yogi; assess the spiritual basis for leadership roles and look at how beliefs about ourselves and others impact leadership capability.
